Kia and the NBA are honoring Lillard for his commitment to anti-bullying and his ongoing support of local, regional and national organizations that share his passion for promoting respect for all. He teamed up with Les Schwab and adidas to help the Trail Blazers tip off the “Respect, Pass It On.” campaign on March 4, which encourages people to take a stand against bullying and pledge to respect others. The Respect campaign also encourages people to make an anti-bullying pledge online at trailblazers.com/respect, which has resulted in more than 5,000 pledges to date.

Kia および NBA は、リラードのいじめ防止に対する貢献に加え、「全ての人に敬意を」という彼の強い思いを共有・促進する地元、地域、国内団体に対する継続的支援を評価。リラードは、レスシュワッブおよびアディダスと連携し、トレイル・ブレイザーズが3月4日に開始する「Respect, Pass It On（敬意を持つ、伝える）」キャンペーンをサポートする。このキャンペーンでは、いじめに対する立場をしっかりと示すことと、他者に対する敬意を誓うことを呼びかける。また、いじめに対する明確な立場を取り、trailblazers.com/respect でいじめ反対の誓いを立てることも促している。同サイトでは、今日までに5千人以上の誓いが立てられている。

Tip off – この言葉の意味がなかなかつかめませんでした。Tip off には「有益な情報」とか、「密告」「こっそり教える」といった意味があるのはわかったのですが、このテキストでは、そういう意味にとらえては、ぴんときませんよね。なぜ、いいキャンペーンをわざわざ秘密っぽく伝えるのか、へんすぎる…。と思っていたところでようやく、この言葉に「バスケットボールをジャンプボールで開始する」という意味があることが判明。なるほど。バスケで使われる句動詞を、あえて使うことで、ここの文が生き生きしてるのか。でも、日本語だと「開始する」というシンプルな訳しか思いつかない（泣）。でも言語の違いだから仕方ないのかな。

今日のは、個人的にかなり勉強になりました。

Damien Lillard is one of my absolute favorite NBA players. Not only is he cool and super exciting to watch on the court, but also he is supportive to others and communities. I bet he has brought joy and excitement to hundreds of thousands of fans and I cannot help but respect him as a player and a human-being. Go Portland Trail Blazers!

The NBA announced Wednesday that Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has won the league’s Community Assist award for March.

Trail Blazers rookie Damian Lillard has been named the recipient of the NBA’s “Kia Community Assist Award” for March in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the community, ongoing advocacy and charitable work, the NBA announced today.

Day 4 – KORA Organics

There are five ways in which you can love yourself; emotionally, physically, spiritually, nutritionally, and joyfully. Always give yourself positive affirmation and think loving thoughts. Stay physically disciplined by maintaining a good, routine exercise program and taking care of your skin with natural and organic products – KORA is my favourite . 自分を愛するには、感情、健康、精神、栄養、喜びという 5 つの面からアプローチできます。まず、常にポジティブなアファメーションを唱え、愛のある思考をしましょう。健康面では、エクササイズの習慣を持ち、お肌は天然のオーガニック製品（私の場合はKORA♥）を使ってケアしてあげて。アルカリ性の水を飲んだり、良い酸素を吸ったり、自然食品を口にいれるようにして、体を労った栄養補給を。精神面では、自分にしっくりくる情熱や、神様、自然、地球などとスピリチュアルに繋がっているようにして。最後にユーモアを忘れずに。ポジティブなユーモアのセン スを持って、自分を笑わせてあげましょう。笑うことは、最高の良薬。まさに神様からの贈り物です。

Think loving thoughts ― 一番先に思いついた訳は「愛のある思考を育みましょう」でした。が、これは、原文から離れすぎ？「愛のある思考に転換しましょう。」これは、元が愛のない思考を「変えていく」という訳になってしまう。原文はあくまでプレーンに、「アファメーションをすることで愛のある思考を「持つ」とか「抱く」べき」という意味ですよね。結局、一番シンプルに「（愛のある思考を）しましょう」にしました。

Day 3 – KORA Organics

Although I have never used any of their products, I like the producer / founder of the brand, Miranda Kerr. Her book was inspiring and I like her demeanor.

Loving yourself is very important. When you love yourself, you want to feel and look your best. After all, love = happiness = joy = laughter.

So, how can a person learn to love themselves?

By taking positive actions and inactions. Everyday, do at least three things that are good for you, and which make you feel good. This is a must. Loving yourself takes discipline and devotion. Look ahead and envision a lifetime of happiness. This will be your outcome if you stay focused on doing the things which will help you love yourself.

自分を愛することはとても大切。自分を愛せば、見た目も心もベストでいたいという思いが生まれるはず。結局、愛＝幸せ＝喜び＝笑い なんだから。

でも、どうしたら自分を愛せるようになるのか。

行動する場合、そして、しない場合も、ポジティブに行うこと。そして、一日最低 3 つは、自分の気分を高めてくれるような、自分にプラスのことをしましょう。これってすごく大事。自分を愛するには、自制心とコミットメントが必要よ。将来を見つめ、一生の幸せを描きましょう。自分への愛に役立つことに集中して取り組めば、そのビジョンが現実になるわ。

難しかったのは、do at least three things that are good for you の “good” と Loving yourself takes discipline and devotion の “discipline” でした。

Good – things that are good for you に「自分にとって「良い」こと」という訳を一番最初にイメージしましたが、なんだかハリがない。そこで、good の類義語を調べると、positive という言葉が目に入り、この文の意味に一番近い気がしました。ただし、その前の文でポジティブという言葉は使われていて重複してしまうので、意味の近い「プラス」にしました。
Discipline － この言葉はいつも本当に訳が難しい。文脈から複数の意味にとれてしまうこともあって、文の筆者に本意を聞くのが一番と感じることもあります。規律、訓練、自制心、克己心、懲罰、学問分野などなど。どんだけ～と叫びたくなるくらい、似ているようで、全く異なる意味が伴っていますよね。
この場合、devotion という言葉を一緒に使われています。devotion は「（自分のプラスになることに集中する）コミットメント」の意味で訳しました。「情熱」と迷いましたが、ひたむきさの方が心地よい響きだと思ったので。となると、discipline は自分への愛を達成していくための「自制心」や「克己心」が一番言い当てているのでは、と思い上記のような訳になりました。

最後の “new creation”,,,の訳にかなーり苦戦しました。この言葉には、「新製品」と無難に訳す以外に、言葉の本意にもっと近いように表現できる訳語、あるかなぁ。
